My belief in the importance of equal learning opportunities for all children spurred my participation in theThrough the Glass Wall project. Assuming computer game play and educational software use will become increasingly prevalent in school and at home, it is the social responsibility of educational software developers, educators, and researchers to participate in creating challenging, meaningful, and equally appealing educational games for all players and learners. My interest in gender difference and game play brought me to this endeavor, in hopes that greater understanding of gender difference will promote greater equality, especially in education.
