I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's in education. I continued to study math in college because I thought it was fun. I loved thinking about the problems and I loved the way my mind worked when I was doing math. I studied education with an eye towards sharing my love of math with students. However it turned out that a classroom was not the right setting for me to do that. Computers, on the other hand, seem to offer more promise. People are used to looking to games for the same kind of enjoyment I find in math, and, if done well, the math in computer games can support the same kind of "mind set" I find so compelling.
