In this game, the player is free to choose from six activity areas. Most activity areas offer a free play or design option as well as a more directed task. For instance, in two areas you can create a musical arrangement, or you can recreate a musical pattern made by a percussion-playing animal. The content featured includes making, repeating, and completing patterns; following directions; exploring attributes such as size, color, pattern, and types of hair or glasses; and designing or constructing shapes or spaces in 2- and 3-D geometry.

See Thinkin' Things 2 and Thinkin' Things 3 for other games in this series.
